Getting to the Island
There are many options for getting to Martha's Vineyard, however, the only way to bring a car is via the ferry from Woods Hole. Car rentals are available on-island if you prefer that. There is a small airport on the island (MVY), and the nearest large airport is Logan International in Boston.
By Ferry
Depending on where you are coming from, there are several ferry choices. All ferries have parking lots if you wish to leave your car behind. The only ferry which accepts cars is the Steamship Authority, leaving from Woods Hole, Cape Cod.
-
Steamship Authority – Woods Hole, Cape Cod
This is the only ferry that allows cars, and reservations book up quickly. You must book your reservation right away, or you will not be able to bring your car with you. - Island Queen – Falmouth, Cape Cod
- Hy-Line Cruises – Hyannis, Cape Cod
- Seastreak – New Bedford, MA
- Vineyard Fast Ferry – North Kingston, RI
By Air
Martha's Vineyard Airport (MVY)
Logan Airport (BOS) – Boston
- Fly almost any airline and take a Peter Pan bus to the MV Steamship Authority ferry.
Green Airport (PVD) – Providence
- Fly Southwest, JetBlue, Delta, United or US Airways and connect directly to the Vineyard Fast Ferry using their direct 15-minute shuttle service between the airport and the ferry dock. Reservations are required.

Lodging and Accomodations
The wedding and ceremony will be held in Chilmark ("up-island"). There are some small cottages and Bed'n'breakfast's nearby, however the majority of the lodging is in Oak Bluffs and Edgartown ("down-island").
Bringing a car to the island is recommended, as Chilmark is ~30 minutes away from the down-island lodging locations. We are working on a group shuttle to provide day-of transportation however, and will send out an email with details once everything is organized.
HomeAway, VRBO and AirBnB have many small houses and cottages for rental, but many require a one-week stay. Many cottages are large enough to hold small groups, which would help defray the cost considerably.
